2026 SIGKDD Innovation Award: Wei Wang

2026 SIGKDD Innovation Award Award Winner

ACM SIGKDD is pleased to announce that Wei Wang is the winner of its 2026 Innovation Award.
Wang is a professor and chair of the Computer Science Department at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, where she also directs the Scalable Analytics Institute. Her research spans big data analytics, data mining, machine learning, computational biology, and AI for scientific discovery, with recent work including AI tools for mathematical reasoning and proof synthesis. Wang currently serves as SIGKDD Chair and previously received the SIGKDD Service Award in 2016. She is a Fellow of ACM and IEEE, holds five U.S. patents, and has published more than 400 papers in leading journals and conferences. The award was presented on August 10 at KDD 2026 in Jeju, South Korea, where Wang delivered the Innovation Award lecture.
