2018 SIGKDD Service Award: Jie Tang
2018 SIGKDD Service Award Award WinnerDr. Jie Tang is both one of the leading researchers in the KDD community and also a major contributor to key service roles in the community. His track record of leadership includes conference organization, journal editorship, and participation in the founding of the Chinese KDD chapter. He has also initiated many new activities and has applied his AMiner system to develop resources for the KDD community. He served as PC Co-Chair of CIKM’16, WSDM’15, Associate General Chair of KDD’18, EiC of IEEE T. on Big Data and AI Open J., and Acting EiC of ACM TKDD. He leads the project AMiner.org, an AI-Powered academic search system, which has attracted more than 10 million independent IP accesses from 220 countries/regions in the world. He was honored with the UK Royal Society-Newton Advanced Fellowship Award, NSFC for Distinguished Young Scholar.
